Every squad or team needs a Tim Duncan. He is of course, the integral member of the 2014 NBA Champions San Antonio Spurs. What makes Duncan special is what he offers to the Spurs in terms of intangibles. From all accounts, he is a reserved and quiet man with no real affiliation to be in the limelight like many of his young contemporaries. He is a player who always leans on the fundamentals of the game in an effective and efficient manner to bring out the best in himself and his teammates. He knows his strengths and weaknesses and plays to them.
The Spurs have created a culture of teamwork and chemistry, but this is enacted by the senior players and then modelled by the rookies. Duncan was once that rookie, learning from Hall of Fame centre David Robinson. Without these players in your team or squad, people don’t know how it should be done. Most likely, you already know who your Tim Duncan is, due to the way they carry themselves during trainings or in games. However, if you don’t know, seek out a Tim Duncan, recruit them to your team or go and train with them for an extended period of time; I’m sure it will be worth your while.
